JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Balloons, shirts, and even hair, all things were pink at Friday night's Pink Pasta Party event.

It's part of the pre-party for Saturday's Komen Northeast Arkansas Race for the Cure 5K.

In an effort to carbo-load for the big race, runners, walkers and even just cheerleaders had a pasta dinner.

They also enjoyed live music by the Arkansas Brothers, and our very own Diana Davis as the emcee.

Friday Night Event Chair Amanda Herget said all of these pre-party events help make the race day that much more fun.

"I think the idea is just to really get you kind of in that festive atmosphere," Herget said. "It just takes some of the pressure off of feeling like I'm participating in a 5K tomorrow and just some fellowship with other runners and walkers."

Several businesses donated to make this event possible.

And people in attendance were able to buy raffle tickets for a $5,000 Bad Boy mower and a $1,000 gift certificate to Sissy's Log Cabin.
