JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - An unwanted guest got an unwanted trip to jail after police say he threatened to shoot a woman in the head.
Last Friday, April 27, Jonesboro police were called to the 1700-block of Aggie Road regarding a man "banging" on a woman's door.
The complainant told 911 dispatchers that 24-year-old Taquarius Cortez Nash of West Memphis was threatening her sister with physical violence.
When officers arrived they found Nash still at the scene and detained him.
The woman's sister was located at another address. She reportedly told an officer that Nash became upset when she told him she wanted to break up.
The victim said Nash began cursing at her, then threatened to shoot her in the head and kill her.
"[The victim] said Mr. Nash then reached for a pistol that he keeps in his backpack," the affidavit stated. "[The victim] said that she believed Mr. Nash due to him shooting her in the arm before."
The woman waited for Nash to take a shower, then grabbed the backpack and left the residence.
She turned the backpack over to an officer who reportedly found a 9mm pistol inside.
On Monday, April 30, Craighead County District Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge Nash with first-degree terroristic threatening. He's being held on a $15,000 cash/surety bond.
