PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - Yard sales are a great way to clean out your house and make a tidy profit. But, police warn sellers not to get cleaned out by counterfeiters.

Paragould police say they have received numerous reports of funny money turning up at area yard sales.

The bills in question look just like real $20 bills. Except, if you look closely, you'll notice red oriental writing on the front and back.

Police urge all those who plan to host a yard sale to be aware of these bogus bucks and to "vigilantly inspect" any bills accepted for payment.

If someone does try to pass one of these fake 20s, the PPD says do not accept it.

What's more, they urge you to not try to detain or confront the person passing the funny money.

Instead, take note of their personal descriptions and any vehicles involved then report the incident to local law enforcement with whatever details you can provide.
