MONETTE, AR (KAIT) -

What goes up doesn’t always come down. At least, not without a little help.

That’s especially true if you’re talking about cats.

They like to climb up trees and light poles. And, often, they refuse to come back down.

Since time immemorial people have tried different ways to bring them down: calling to them, opening cans of tuna, pulling out the water hose…

Sometimes it takes a professional with a kind heart.

That was the case Thursday in Monette when a gray-striped tabby found its way to the top of a power pole.

Despite neighbors efforts to get the kitty down, it refused to budge.

Soon the cavalry was called in…okay, the electric company.

An electric worker in a cherry picker stretched out his hands and called to the kitty who was all too happy to have a safe ride down to solid ground.

GR8 job!
