BRINKLEY, AR (KAIT) - A council member in Brinkley faces a felony charge after he reportedly operated a gambling house out of a restaurant, authorities said Thursday.

According to a post on the 1st Judicial District Drug Task Force's Facebook page, Gene DePriest was arrested on suspicion of keeping a gambling house after the months-long investigation.

Officers raided Gene's Bar-B-Que & Restaurant in Brinkley on April 19, finding ten arcade machines and cash.

DePriest, who was given a May 7 circuit court date, was released on his own recognizance, authorities said.
