PIGGOTT, AR (KAIT) - According to Clay County Sheriff Terry Miller, officials have been able to temporarily fix the problems that led to the evacuation of 37 inmates from the Clay County jail in Piggott Friday night.

A main breaker box overheating caused the inmates to be sent to nearby Greene County. Miller said officials will have a permanent solution in place on Monday.

The incident happened around 6:15 p.m. Friday, with the smell of smoke and wiring in the area.

No damage was reported and the inmates are being moved back to the Clay County jail, Miller said.
