ARKADELPHIA, AR (KAIT/KARK) - It's a community resource facing closure that has many southwest Arkansas residents up in arms.
According to KARK, the multimedia learning center at Henderson State University may be closing.
The multimedia learning center is open to the public and many teachers rely upon the center for materials for their classrooms.
While nothing has been set in stone, students and community members took to Facebook to voice their concerns.
The story has been shared thousands of times and the university issued a statement saying they were looking at outsourcing operations but had no plans to close.
"I spent many hours there just creating different theme units for my students, trying to create high-quality lessons for them," Misty Smith said.
That's why Smith hopes the university finds a solution.
The university says it is looking at bringing a partner in to help run the center.
Some community members say they'd be willing to pay a small fee or membership to help keep the center open.
