HARDY, AR (KAIT) - The city of Hardy has made its first purchase with FEMA money it was recently granted.
Mayor Jason Jackson said they are buying a new generator for their sewer system.
The current one is not large enough to efficiently run the system, and it does not automatically turn on in the event of an outage.
The new one should stop the disruptions they often have during storms.
The old generator will then be installed in the Hardy Civic Center so it can be used as an emergency shelter if needed.
