GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

A Corning man faces a sexual assault charge after Greene County sheriff’s deputies say he made sexual advances toward two girls during a trip to the store for ice cream.

The alleged incident occurred April 14, according to an initial incident report filed by Deputy Jimmy Huffstetler.

One of the victims, a 14-year-old girl, told the deputy 29-year-old Jesse Lee Dodson had picked her and a 13-year-old friend up at the Lafe Park. According to the report, the second victim’s parents said the two could ride to the store with Dodson to get ice cream.

The victim claimed during the ride Dodson tried to get her and her friend “to drink beer and have sex with him.”

After speaking with the first victim and her mother, and getting a written statement from the girl, Huffstetler met with the second victim and her parents.

According to his report, the second victim’s father was “visibly upset” and the girl began to cry as she spoke with the deputy.

“Victim #2 then asked if she could talk to me in private and her father stated that it would be fine,” Huffstetler reported.

Once outside, the girl reportedly told the deputy “Dodson had put his hand inside of the front of her pants and had penetrated her with his thumb.”

After getting the girl’s statement, Huffstetler contacted Detective Chuck Noles.

On Thursday, May 3, deputies arrested Dodson on suspicion of second-degree sexual assault. He is currently free on a $50,000 bond awaiting a June 29 appearance in circuit court.
