BEEBE, AR (KAIT) -

Initially, police were called to a hostage situation at a hotel, but the "victim" turned out to be the suspect.

Beebe police stated in a Facebook post that officers were called to the Budget Inn on 2110 W Dewitt Henry Dr. on March 11, 2017.

The mother of a juvenile reported her daughter and 20-year-old friend April Wise were held hostage at the motel. They were "forced by a male staying in the room to strip down to their underclothing while he took photographs and later forced the juvenile to participate in a sexual act."

An emergency response team made entry into the motel room and a male was detained and questioned.

During the man's questioning, it was discovered that he had text messages from Wise and the juvenile. They had reportedly propositioned him and agreed to come to his room to have sex in exchange for money.

Police learned the man did not hold the females hostage and did not know the younger girl was a juvenile. BPD stated the man was cleared of all charges except solicitation.

Wise was recently convicted of filing a false police report and promoting prostitution.

She was sentenced to 72 months of probation and fined $1,610.

The juvenile has not yet been adjudicated, according to police.
