JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Detectives in Jonesboro and Brookland say a 19-year-old man on parole for a string of vehicle break-ins last year, recently broke into several more vehicles.

Zachary Williamson faces a combined 10 counts of breaking or entering-articles from a vehicle, five counts of theft of a firearm, and one count of possession of a firearm by certain persons.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed Thursday by Jonesboro detectives,  Williamson admitted that he was “present when the cars were entered, but only admitted to taking one of the several firearms” reported stolen.

Williamson reportedly told the detectives several guns were taken on the night in question, but that he took just one that he said looked like a machine gun.

“In the 9 cases that I have been investigating there were 5 firearms taken from the vehicles,” the detective stated in court documents.

Craighead County District Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause Thursday to charge Williamson and set his bond at $15,000.

Williamson is also a suspect in multiple vehicle break-ins in Brookland.

According to Detective Zachary Purrington’s probable cause affidavit in that case, Williamson was seen in security footage from the residences during the break-ins.

“Clothing worn by Williamson in multiple social media posts also matches the clothing worn during the night of the break-ins,” Purrington stated.

During an interview with Brookland detectives, Williamson reportedly “confessed to the crimes on the night of March 25-26.”

After reviewing the affidavit, Judge Fowler also found probable cause to charge Williamson with another count of breaking or entering-articles from a vehicle. He set that bond at $10,000.

Williamson is due in circuit court to enter a plea on both charges on June 29.

Williamson is currently on parole after pleading guilty to multiple counts of vehicle breaking and entering and theft of property in 2017.

He was given 6 years suspended imposition of sentence and ordered to pay restitution along with his co-defendants.
