JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Joel Shell was born blind, but he isn't letting that stop him from living out his dream.
Since 2017, he's been working for KFLO 102.9 FM radio.
He said he loves the job, but never thought it would be possible.
"I can't just read what's on the screen with my eyes," he said. "I actually have to have extra equipment with me to do it. "
Now, with the help of a Braille keyboard and other equipment he is on the radio every week reporting the news.
"I feel like I'm where God wants me to be," he said.
He's now hoping to encourage others to follow their dreams.
"Some people are probably just afraid to get out and try new things, but if you don't get out and try new things you don't know what's out there."
"Don't let your quote un-quote disabilities or as I like to call them different abilities, hold you back," he said. "The sky's the limit."
