Former Razorback buys mom new home on Mother's Day

LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT/KATV) - Former Razorback now professional NBA player Bobby Portis had quite the surprise for his mom on Mother's Day.

His mother, Tina Edwards, thought she was going to a house for a meeting in Maumelle, according to KATV.

It wasn't until she walked through the door and her son met her with a small box and ribbon on it that she found out she was the owner of a brand new home.

Edwards cried and hugged her 6-foot-11 inch son.

"What he did for me and my three sons man is something, a feel, that I really can't describe right now," said Edwards.

The home came fully-furnished and is just north of Little Rock, where Portis was born.

Portis said that he wanted to do something like this for his mother since he was a kid and wanted to totally surprise her.

Not even his three brothers knew what he had planned.

Portis was the 22nd overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft and just finished up his third season with the Bulls.
