LITTLE ROCK - Your Good Neighbor Station has joined forces with KHOG in Fayetteville, KHBS, in Fort Smith and KATV in Little Rock for a one-hour special about hurricane relief efforts in Arkansas, and the thousands of evacuees that have already arrived. The special "Katrina Aftermath: Neighbors in Need" will air on ABC stations statewide Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. K8's news anchor, Craig Rickert will be among the hosts for the show.
The special will focus on the state's efforts to house and feed the evacuees throughout the Natural State. It will include interviews with Gov. Mike Huckabee, state emergency management officials, and even evacuees themselves, beginning to call Arkansas their new home.
"The impact of Hurricane Katrina goes well beyond the borders of Louisiana and Mississippi" according to KHBS/KHOG news director Mike Courington. "We wanted to take a closer look at the people who's lives have been destroyed and how the people in our hometowns are helping them."
Officials will be on hand to hear your questions and concerns.
