DES ARC, AR (KAIT/KARK) -

Authorities in Prairie County are searching for the body of a nine-year-old who they believe drowned Sunday in the White River.

According to Little Rock NBC affiliate KARK, dive teams were back in the water Monday looking for the girl.

Police said the girl may have drowned near a sandbar.

Officers said strong currents in the river may have been a factor.
