JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The largest youth baseball tournament in Jonesboro's history is coming up and businesses are ready to play ball.
Region 8 News first told you about the tournament last week, which is expected to draw about 5,000 visitors.
Restaurants and retailers are gearing up for the crowd, especially the general manager at Wings to Go.
"We double up on everything and just kind of fly by the seat of our pants," said Chris Weaver.
They have two restaurants in town, including one near Joe Mack Campbell Park.
Weaver said he has stocked up on extra food and staff.
"We'll have extra staff here to take care of the crowd, also we will have a few people on-call to take care of them," he said.
Weaver believes it's important for all local businesses to be prepared for events like this so management can provide great hospitality to guests.
"We are hoping that most of the baseball teams will come in, watch a few sports, and eat a few wings," he said.
The city will use 24 ball fields at multiple parks in Jonesboro Saturday and Sunday to accommodate the 170 teams that have been bracketed in.
