A Craighead County man is in trouble with the law after he reportedly assaulted a woman at a home, Jonesboro police said Wednesday.
Stacy Jones of Jonesboro was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and violation of a no-contact order after police went to a home in the 1300-block of West Huntington Tuesday.
The victim told police that Jones came to her house and became physically aggressive with her, according to a probable cause affidavit in the case.
"She advised that Mr. Jones had choked her and physically assaulted her. She also advised officers that Mr. Jones attempted to cover her face with a pillow," police said in a probable cause affidavit. "She advised officers that Mr. Jones told her that 'She was not going to live in this house without him.'"
Officers took pictures of the victim's injuries and arrested Jones at the scene.
Police later interviewed the victim.
"She advised she was able to kick him and get him off of her and then exit the residence and call police," the affidavit noted.
Officers also interviewed Jones as well.
Jones denied assaulting the victim in any way, police said.
A $10,000 cash bond was set Wednesday for Jones, who must also wear an ankle monitor if he is able to post bond, court records show.
