County to get new ambulance service

ProMed Ambulance Service will soon have a new operations base in Lawrence County.

LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The new base will be located in Imboden and provide even more emergency coverage for residents in the county.

Lawrence County 911 Coordinator Paige VanBrook said the county has been working on getting another ambulance service for a while.

"We had a need in this county for additional ambulance services because we run short of ambulances so often, it's almost daily at times," she said.

She said the addition of the new service will give many people in the county more peace of mind.
"Only minutes will make the difference in some cases," she said.  "We're just very excited to have ProMed as part of our group and part of our resources."
ProMed could begin responding to medical emergencies as soon as next month.
