WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) - A large industrial distribution facility could soon be built in Walnut Ridge.
The Allegis Corporation leases a smaller facility in the area and now they are hoping to add a distribution center to Industrial Park.
The city officials and the company have already signed the offer and acceptance on the 36,000 square foot facility.
Mayor Charles Snapp said the final paperwork for the project will likely be signed next week.
He said the town has been working to grow Industrial Park for several years.
"It's been twenty years since anything was built at the industrial park at the park and occupied in this size range," he said. "While this is going to be a project that's built to suit for Allegis, it's going to be a big step for us."
The new facility will bring in 12 more jobs to the area.
Snapp said the jobs will be highly sought after positions for people with experience.
He said once paperwork is finalized, work on the new facility will begin.
