Woman in stable condition following home invasion, shooting

TRUMANN, AR (KAIT) - Trumann Police investigate a home invasion that left a woman in surgery at Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

Trumann Police Chief Chad Henson said they received a call around 12:30 a.m. about a home invasion in the 400 block of Arrowhead.

Upon arrival, they found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

She was transported to The Med in Memphis for surgery Friday morning in critical condition, but Chief Henson said she made it out of surgery and is in stable condition as of Friday evening.

Chief Henson said they are still interviewing possible witnesses, but the only description they have is possibly a white male was wearing a grey shirt and blue jean pants and his face was covered with a ski mask.

"It's still under investigation, so the primary thing is we've contacted a lot of residents, I understand they're worried, rightfully so," he said.

Investigators have canvased several fields and residences and still gathering tips as they come in.

Chief Henson is asking anyone with tips to contact the Trumann Police Department.

"Someone may have been walking up and down Arrowhead or Twin Oaks, or 69, maybe they can help us out, give us those tips," he said.   "Anything that you can think of, anybody that you saw, don't think that you're wasting our time, just go ahead and give us a call."

This is an ongoing investigation, and they will release more details later.

Anyone with information on the case can call Trumann police at 870-483-6423.

Region 8 News is working to learn more about the investigation.
