BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

Batesville officials held a grand opening and ribbon cutting Friday for the Food Lot.

The new food truck park in Downtown Batesville is designed to bring different types of street food to one central location.

“We’ve got four regular food trucks here right now,” Food Lot owner Wendy Lewis said. “We do have enough for eight vendors and then we have room for expansion already so when we need that we’re ready to go.”

Lewis said they already expect one more regular truck to move in next month.

The lot is just one block from Main Street, which Lewis said she is thankful for.

“Main Street Batesville is booming with life right now and that certainly helps,” Lewis said.

The owners hope to provide foods and an atmosphere that are different than those you’d find in the local restaurants.

“To be able to really be a fun, friendly atmosphere where people can come and hang out in the evenings with their family and friends and just have a good time and eat some awesome street food,” Lewis said.

If a food truck vendor is interested in moving to the Food Lot, you can contact Wendy at (870) 307-5026 or Steve Lewis at (870) 834-1375.
