FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) - Both Forrest City police and the family of a woman want to see justice after the woman was found shot at her home earlier this week.
According to a report from Memphis television station WREG, the son and daughter of Shirley Jones found their mother, with multiple gunshot wounds, in a back room May 16 at the home on Traylor Street.
Jones was taken to a Memphis hospital, where she was in critical condition, WREG reported.
Her family had tried to contact her earlier on Wednesday, but could not reach her. From there, her son and daughter went to their mother's home to check on her.
"Her phone was on the front porch. Her phone was found on the front porch. That's why she couldn't answer the phone," her brother, Stanley Jones, said.
Police have said they have several strong leads on a suspect in connection with the shooting but no arrests have been made.
