Man arrested in Randolph County hit and run

RANDOLPH COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A Randolph County man was taken into custody Sunday in connection with a hit and run crash east of Pocahontas.

Steven Roberts of O'Kean was arrested after later returning to the scene, Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said.

State police got a call around 11:50 a.m. about the vehicle/pedestrian crash on Highway 304 in the Hog Pen Curve area. Sadler said authorities soon got to the scene.

"Roberts reportedly fled from the crash scene and the bicyclist was transported to a Jonesboro hospital with non-life threatening injuries," Sadler said in a statement. "Roberts later returned to the scene where he was taken into custody and taken to the Randolph County jail."

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
