JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The dance floor was hot Sunday evening at a Jonesboro Kappa League event.
The organization's goal is to mentor youth in Jonesboro to become leaders in the community.
Members of the group treated their mothers to a dance.
The women's sons ranging from toddlers to teens showed up in suits and ties and danced with their moms.
Many of the young boys seemed to take away a life lesson from the outing.
"I've learned another way to appreciate my mom because they do so much things for you all day, every day and you don't have enough time to appreciate them in your own kind of way, so this is a very nice time to appreciate them and love on them more than you could ever do," Talvickeo Banks, a 12-year-old Kappa League member, said.
The league, which was founded last February, has worked to establish a scholarship fund.
The dance allowed them to grow the proceeds to reach out and help more young people to become leaders with source of support for higher education.
