JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A judge found probable cause to charge a Blytheville man with robbing a Jonesboro convenience store at gunpoint.
Investigators say 40-year-old Quincy Darnell Ward walked into the Kum & Go, 3105 S. Stadium, early on the morning Dec. 16, 2017, and handed the clerk a bag. They say Ward then demanded the store employee fill the sack with cash from the register.
When the clerk handed Ward the money, detectives say Ward placed a small handgun on the counter and said, "Y'all can keep this."
The entire exchange was captured on the store's surveillance cameras which was shared with local media, including Region 8 News.
According to the affidavit, Ward was identified as the suspect by an anonymous tip and a Gosnell police detective who is familiar with him.
On Monday, Ward appeared before Craighead County District Judge Tommy Fowler on an arrest warrant where probable cause had been found on Jan. 4 to charge him with aggravated robbery.
Fowler set Ward's bond at $10,000 cash/surety and ordered him to appear in circuit court on June 29.
