BONO, AR (KAIT) - A man found living on a Bono parking lot has been arrested on suspicion of failing to comply with child sex offender reporting.
David Riddle, according to court documents, is a Level 3 sex offender.
On May 14, someone reported to police that he was living in a camper in the Bono Auto Parts parking lot, 100 U.S. Highway 63B.
The probable cause affidavit stated the business is located within 2,000 feet of two city parks. According to state law, registered offenders are prohibited from living near a public park, youth center, or daycare.
A Bono police officer photographed the camper and witnessed over the course of a week that Riddle stayed there every night.
On May 18, Detective Jordon Kennedy attempted to verify Riddle's listed address on Highway 77 in Manila but was unable to locate the address, the affidavit stated.
Three days later, on May 21, a judge signed a bench warrant for Riddle's arrest. He was taken into custody later that evening.
On Tuesday, Craighead County District Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause to charge him with failure to comply with child sex offender reporting requirements and set his bond at $10,000.
According to the Arkansas Crime Information Center and online court records, Riddle pleaded guilty in 2000 to first-degree carnal abuse.
