GOSNELL, AR (KAIT) - City officials in Gosnell are excited about a bit of a business boom.

City Clerk Kathleen Hunt-Cross says Gosnell is expecting three new businesses to open their doors soon, including Dr. B. R. Veterinary Clinic, a drug store and the third is still under discussion.

Officials are hopeful that the group of businesses will bring in even more.

"The revenue from these new businesses will help the city tremendously," Hunt-Cross said. "And we're hoping that it draws attention to our city and brings in potential new businesses."

The clinic and drug store will be the first of their kind in Gosnell, so residents will have a much shorter commute.

The drug store will be located on a piece of city-owned property, so the council is discussing to either lease or sell that land for the business to build on.

And Hunt-Cross said the veterinary clinic could be open as soon as early June.
