JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Some basketball players and supporters gathered Tuesday night to pray for a fellow player.

According to Northeast Arkansas Rockets basketball coach Keith Gregory, Quinton Tate is the 15-year-old boy who was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when he hit a truck while riding a bicycle.

Quinton played for Coach Gregory on his Amateur Athletic Union team in the past.

"Also through Annie Camp [Junior High]," Gregory said. "My children attending school here and him attending the school so I kind of run into him a lot."

Tuesday night, before his team's practice, the coach led a prayer for Quinton's healing and his family.

"It's not only him but his family needs us at this time," Gregory said. "We are definitely family oriented. Even though we've all got separate names we're all under one motto and that's to reach out to the kids not only in Jonesboro but in Northeast Arkansas."

Gregory is also collecting donations for Quinton's mother to help with the expense of staying in Memphis with her son.

If you would like to donate, you can call Gregory at (870) 627-9254 or by email at nearocketsbasketball@gmail.com.
