WEST MEMPHIS, AR (KAIT) - Improvement to lighting fixtures on the Interstate 40 bridge of the Mississippi River will cause overnight lane closures.
According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation, crews will close the outside westbound lanes of I-40 beginning Monday night at 7 p.m. until 8 a.m. nightly to upgrade existing lights to LED fixtures.
When the light fixtures on the westbound lane have been upgraded, crews will then move to the eastbound lanes.
Closures on the eastbound lanes will begin at 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The project is expected to be complete in late July.
AR-DOT officials urge drivers to use caution when driving through work zones.
