School bus delivering books to kids this summer

BONO, AR (KAIT) - A local school district is hitting the road this summer to keep kids reading.

Westside Consolidated School District loaded up a bus Tuesday morning and set out on the highway.

Their first stop was the Bono mayor's office at 9. An hour later, they were setting up at the Egypt City Hall.

The Warrior Reading Bus also planned to make stops at the Cash Gym/Park/Pavilion area and Westside Summer Care before heading to the high school parking lot.

According to the district's Facebook page, the bus will visit these locations every Tuesday through July 24.

Students will be able to hop on and check out books to read during the summer.

The Warrior Reading Bus will make stops on June 5, 12, 19, and 26; and July 10, 17, and 24 at the following times:

  • 9-9:45 a.m. Bono Mayor’s Office
  • 10-10:30 a.m. Egypt City Hall
  • 10:45-11:15 a.m. Cash Gym/Park/Pavilion
  • 11:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Westside Summer Program
  • 1-3 p.m. Reading Bus Drop in the WHS parking lot
