LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Lawrence County employees are working to prepare for any emergency situation.
County Judge John Thomison says he wants employees in the county to be proactive rather than reactive to emergencies.
Just in the past month courthouse employees have taken part in CPR training and a Stop the Bleed class.
Lawrence County 911 coordinator Paige Vanbrook said she's thankful for the trainings courthouse employees have been able to take part in.
"In this day and age, you never know when an emergency's going to happen, whether it be something small like somebody passing out or having a heart attack or something major like we've experienced with the floods and the ice storms," she said.
Soon county road crews will undergo chainsaw safety training.
Vanbrook said courthouse employees will also take part in first aid training in the near future.
