JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - First, he failed to register as a sex offender, then police say he failed to show up for court.

Jonesboro police arrested 30-year-old James Allen Adams last December after he moved to Trumann but failed to notify police. As a Level One sex offender, he must notify local authorities within three days of each move.

At his formal arraignment in January, Circuit Judge Pam Honeycutt ordered him to appear in court on May 21 for a motion and plea day.

He did not appear.

So, Circuit Judge Tonya Alexander issued a warrant for his arrest.

On Friday, Adams appeared before District Judge David Boling who set his bond at $100,000 cash/surety.

Adams is due in court on June 29.

In 2010, he pleaded guilty to fourth-degree sexual assault and received a 60-months suspended sentence. As part of his conviction, he was ordered to register as a sex offender.
