JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The 6th annual Arkansas Antique Car Show was held at the Jonesboro Health and Rehab Center on Saturday.

Many people brought out their antique cars and enjoyed food and entertainment.

However, a group was also using the event for a good cause, collecting donations for a project called Dolls for Dementia.

They were collecting monetary donations as well as dolls and baby blankets during the event.

"It's pretty much for therapy, to calm down erratic behaviors for residents that have dementia or Alzheimer's and they typically reflect back on their parenting days," said business development director Tommy Baker. "Most of the patients we talk to they say get the baby and so we get this and it gives them comfort."

The dolls will be given to dementia and Alzheimer's patients at the Jonesboro Health and Rehab Center.

The group said it has been helpful for many of their patients and they hope to collect enough dolls to help patients in other areas.
