2.3-magnitude earthquake reported in Southeast Missouri

NEW MADRID COUNTY, MO (KAIT) - The University of Memphis reported a small earthquake in Southeast Missouri Monday morning.

According to its Center for Earthquake and Information, the 2.3-magnitude quake rocked the area north of New Madrid, MO.

It happened just before 3 a.m. between New Madrid County Road 635 and Interstate 55.

The center says it was more than 5 miles deep.
