JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Police arrested a Jonesboro man Sunday after witnesses say he was running around nude, threatening them with gardening shears. Later in court, he flipped off the judge.

Craighead County District Judge David Boling found probable cause Tuesday to charge 48-year-old Kevin Wayne Curry with aggravated assault.

According to court documents, officers were called to the 600-block of West Strawn after residents called 911 reporting he was running around the neighborhood in the nude and threatening them with garden shears.

When police attempted to contact Curry, he refused to come out of his home.

“When they backed away, he would come outside, but then run back in,” Detective Nathan Coleman noted in the court documents. “He had already broken the windows to his apartment and was communicating with officers through the open windows.”

When he threatened to kill himself, officers forced entry and placed him under arrest.

Curry was scheduled to appear in court Monday, but the bailiffs requested more time, stating he was being uncooperative.

During his video court appearance on, Curry stood mumbling to himself then peering intently at the camera.

At one point during the proceeding, the judge asked where he lived. Curry replied by giving him the finger.

Boling mildly replied, “Okay.” The judge then set his bond at $1,500 with a court date of July 27.
