JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Jonesboro man is being held on a $10,000 bond after police say he put a knife to a woman's throat and threatened to kill her.
Early Tuesday morning, officers were called to a disturbance with weapons in the 5600-block of Pacific Drive.
The caller was a juvenile who told dispatch that Rickey Andrew Porter, 41, held a knife against his mother's throat.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers spoke with the victim and Porter.
The woman claimed Porter thought she wanted to leave the residence to do drugs, according to the probable cause affidavit. It was then she said he came up behind her, held a knife to her throat, and threatened to kill her.
"When being asked about a knife, Porter told officers that he did not put anything against the victim's throat," Detective Jacob Daffron stated in the affidavit.
Tuesday afternoon Craighead County District Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge Porter with aggravated assault on a family or household member and first-degree terroristic threatening.
The judge set Porter's bond at $10,000 and ordered him to appear in circuit court on July 27.
