COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

A judge denied bond Monday for a Ruffin man facing charges of criminal sexual conduct with an underage victim.

Steven Matthew Wright, 20, is charged with five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 11, according to Colleton County Sheriff's Lt. Tyger Benton.

Affidavits state the charges stem from an incident or incidents that occurred between June 1, 2017, and March 18, 2018. Detectives say the victim identified Wright during a forensic interview in Beaufort.

Wright will face a bond hearing with a circuit court judge, Benton said.

He was currently being held at the Colleton County Detention Center in Walterboro.
