PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - Two gospel bands gave back to a local non-profit organization by performing at a benefit concert.
Center for Fathers and Families, a non-profit organization based out of Paragould, hosted the concert Saturday to bring families together.
Heart's Desire and Tone Masters stole the show by performing many southern gospel songs.
The group hosts events like this one to reach their goal of re-establishing family structures inside homes.
"With today's structure of families breaking down and the way it is, also with the way society is with school shootings and violence going on, it's our desire to re-establish the family structure," said Billy Pearson, the organization's executive director. "We do that by educating the community about what family structure looks like, what a father's role in the household is."
The organization provides many classes and programs, including marital and rehabilitation studies.
Donations collected at Saturday evening's concert help local families.
"Everything that we get as far as donations and everything, go directly towards the curriculum," Pearson said. "We are teaching a marital small group study right now, and it would go to the books and finances, DVD's."
Anyone seeking help from Center for Fathers and Families can contact Pearson at 870-450-7557.
The Collins Theatre drew a large crowd of people with giving hearts Saturday evening.
