LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT/KATV) -

Arkansas State Police want you to now that left lane driving is illegal in the Natural State.

According to KATV, in the past 12 months, troopers have stopped about 1,100 drivers cruising in the left lane.

But the issue isn’t that those drivers are a hazard to traffic, it’s that they’re getting in the way of emergency vehicles, too.

ASP Corporal Liz Chapman adds that cruising in the left lane is illegal, “Arkansas law states, you cannot continuously operate a motor vehicle in the left lane of traffic."

Another concern for troopers is slow driving impeding the flow of traffic.

There is also a law for that.
