JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Motorists hitting the road to celebrate this Independence Day might not be in a celebratory mood when they fill up their gas tanks.
Americans are expected to shell out an average of $2.90 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com. That's the highest price since 2014 when the national average was $3.66/gallon.
What's more, analysts predict prices will jump higher before July 4.
On Wednesday, oil prices surged to $73 per barrel; again, the highest price since 2014.
