SEATTLE, WA (KARK/KAIT) - It has been a busy week for Arkansas' Special Olympians as the group reached the 100-medal plateau Thursday after several wins in swimming.
According to a report from Little Rock television station KARK, the team has 101 medals for the games, which are being held in Seattle. Austin Corzine won a gold medal in the 200-meter breaststroke, while Maddie Fletcher received a bronze medal in the 50-meter freestyle.
On Wednesday, the Natural State's Unified Soccer Team won the bronze medal while 73-year-old Shebbie Eubanks received a bronze in the 400-meter walk. Locally, Savannah Wilkins of Valley View also won a gold medal at the games.
