JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police arrested a man wanted in connection to a shooting that injured a woman on Independence Day.
On Tuesday JPD officers arrested Mario Stafford at a family member's apartment without incident.
He was arrested on a warrant for felony terroristic act with injury.
Stafford is suspected of being involved in a vehicle shooting on July 4. A woman driver sustained a minor arm injury during the shooting.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim had just dropped her friend off at a home on Dupwe Drive around 10:20 p.m. and was turning back onto West Nettleton Avenue when a vehicle came up behind and fired several rounds with an assault rifle, striking her car 18 times.
The car she was driving, according to court documents, belonged to one of the victim's family members who had been involved in a shooting earlier that night with a known associate of Stafford's.
JPD's Street Crimes Unit, the 2nd Judicial Drug Task Force, ACC SRT Fugitive Task Force, and U.S. Marshals made the arrest.
Stafford appeared in Craighead County District Court on Wednesday where a judge found probable cause to charge him with a terroristic act, 2 counts of theft by receiving, and possession of a controlled substance.
A judge set his bond at $200,000. Stafford was ordered to appear in court again on Aug. 23.
