DUNKLIN COUNTY, MO (KAIT) - Authorities in one area county are asking residents to be careful, especially if they get a call from someone saying they have a warrant for their arrest.
According to a post on the Dunklin County Sheriff's Department Facebook page, the calls are automated and have gone to people who live in the county.
"The call will be from an automated system and state that in order to avoid arrest, money must be sent to a designated location," the post noted. "Anyone receiving this call, be aware this is a scam."
Officials ask that people should contact the Dunklin County Sheriff's Office at 573-888-2424 if they have any questions about the calls.
