CONWAY, AR (KAIT) - Three teenage girls are in trouble with the law after they were reportedly seen on video laughing while taunting a one-year-old child with a taser, according to Conway police.
Conway police said in a Facebook post that an officer was sent to Conway Regional Medical Center on July 9 after getting a call about reported child abuse.
The officer spoke with the mother of the child.
"She spoke with the mother of a one-year-old baby girl and was shown a video that appeared to depict three female teens laughing hysterically while taunting the baby girl with a taser, which caused the child to scream and sob in uncontrollable fear," the post noted. "The video continued on, showing the teens joking and laughing when one of them forcefully struck the child in the head."
The child's mother was told about the video and took the child to the hospital, where she later called police, police said.
The teens had been babysitting the toddler and the mother was not aware of the situation, police said.
All three teens were arrested on suspicion of endangering the welfare of a minor in the first degree.
The child was not injured.
