JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Build-A-Bear locations across the country are seeing long lines for a new, one day only, promotion.

The lines are so long the company is actually closing lines in U.S. stores out of safety concerns, according to the Build-A-Bear website.

The Mall at Turtle Creek in Jonesboro is no different. Photos show lines extending outside the mall.

We've reached out to The Mall at Turtle Creek for comment about the line and have not heard back yet.

The mall did post a message regarding the long line on its Facebook page:

A local woman said the promotion was interesting.

"The kids want to pick out their stuff and then they want to fill out their things and so. It's been fun though," Jillian Laboy of Jonesboro said. "They've all been pretty good. I'm just excited all the kids get to .. you know ... a lot of kids don't get to get stuff like this because it's so expensive. So, it's a good thing."

Thursday is the first-ever "Pay Your Age Day" at Build-A-Bear locations.

For one day only, the age of a guest determines how much you pay for a furry friend.

Regarding the line closures Build-A-Bear stated in part:

We understand some of our Guests are disappointed and we will reach out directly as soon as possible.
