Police investigating attempted robbery at knifepoint

KENNETT, MO (KAIT) -

A victim was injured during a reported attempted robbery in Kennett.

The Kennett Police Department stated on their Facebook page that officers were called to the 200-block of Chance St. just before 1 a.m. on July 6.

Officers learned the victim was walking when he was approached by two subjects who asked for help with their vehicle.

Eventually, the conversation led to narcotics. Then one of the suspects pulled a knife on the victim and demanded money, according to police. The victim said he did not have anything on him.

During the incident, the victim sustained a small cut on his finger.

KPD stated there are no suspects yet in the case and it is still under investigation.
