Traffic signal hit by lightning, intersection turned into 4-way stop

BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) - A lightning strike has altered traffic in Batesville.

The city released a statement on their Facebook page stating it was hit around 9 a.m. Friday.

The light is not working and could possibly be out for the next 24 hours. Officers are at the scene to help with traffic.

ArDOT is working to install temporary stop signs to change the intersection of Harrison and Sidney Street into a four-way stop.

Drivers are urged to use caution in this area.
