ASP identifies man killed in Highway 67 crash

RANDOLPH COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Arkansas State Police have identified the driver of a dump truck killed Thursday morning in a multi-vehicle crash.

The crash occurred at 6:02 a.m. on Highway 67, just north of the Lawrence-Randolph County line.

According to the ASP preliminary fatal crash report, 22-year-old Tyler Carter Johnson of Jonesboro was northbound when the dump truck he was driving crossed the center line and struck a 2005 Peterbilt semi-truck driven by Rick L. Hudson, 32, of Reyno. Johnson's truck then hit a 2017 Freightliner driven by Douglas Dean Davis, 54, of Granite City, IL.

Johnson was pronounced at the scene. Hudson and Davis were injured. According to the report, they were taken to Regional One Health Medical Center in Memphis.

The crash shut down the highway for nearly 12 hours, according to ArDOT.
