SPRINGDALE, AR (KAIT/KARK) - A Springdale pastor convicted in 2000 for possessing child pornography now faces more charges after police say he tried to meet a 14-year-old boy for sex.

Homeland Security investigators arrested 67-year-old Timothy Lee Reddin after they say he chatted online and sent text messages to an undercover officer posing as a young boy.

According to a probable cause affidavit, he agreed to meet the "boy" on Aug. 3 for sex. That was when police arrested him.

Back in 2000, Reddin pleaded guilty to possession of child porn and served 27 months behind bars.

He was also required to register as a sex offender.

KARK spoke with Dante Silanto who lives near the Baptist church that Reddin preached at.

"You need to be careful who you're with, who you're around. You never know, I guess, they could be doing some weird stuff," Silanto said. "I saw kids over there all the time, so you need to be careful who you leave your kids with."

According to the Ecclesia College Faculty directory, Reddin also worked part-time on their campus.
