The Pocahontas School District will have two new members on staff helping make campus safer this school year.
The district is adding two school resource offices for the upcoming school year.
Previously, one SRO worked to cover all of the district's main campus and at Alma Spikes Elementary.
Superintendent Daryl Blaxton said adding two more officers will enhance campus safety.
He also said as the district continues to grow and that having more SROs on campus will benefit the school beyond the security aspect.
"They'll be working with our counselors and implementing anti-bullying programs within the schools," he said. "We want our students to know them, know them by name, they will be developing positive relationships with kids."
Blaxton said the extra presence on campus will also give parents more peace of mind.
The three officers now on campus will rotate between the main campus and the elementary building, giving parents and students an opportunity to meet them.
